I was just reading over the product insert for my hCG and it states that once reconstituted it should be used within 30 days.

This doesn't make sense, since I have a prescription for three months. Does this mean that the hCG will lose its potency after 30 days? Last edited by a moderator: Sep 2, Gene Devine Super Moderator. HCG will keep its potency, if kept in the refrigerator, for 90 days without losing any potency.

Don't worry about it! Nice, thanks Gene! GettingAnswers Member. Wish I had known that. I had heard 45 days. Too expensive to throw out that early! I have heard you can check it with a pregnancy test strip to see if still active. Kelly Member. It's how the pharmaceutical companies make money. EmpowerPharmacy Member. HCG is also fairly stable when refrigerated. EmpowerPharmacy said:. Click to expand HCG is not as fragile as some would think.

Simply look at the compounding process to make lyophilized freeze dried HCG. First the HCG liquid is poured into vials and placed into the lyophilizer. The lyophilizer then takes the liquid down to degrees Celsius and holds it there for several hours to anneal the small block of ice within the vial.

As you can see the HCG is kept at extreme cold and warm temperatures for extended periods of time with no damage to the end product. Once reconstituted the effects of hydrolysis degrade the molecule much quicker. Bass New Member. It is not recommended to store any injectable product in a drawn up syringe as it is not a sealed container and presents sterility issues. Nelson Vergel Founder, ExcelMale. Trimix and HCG can be frozen after reconstitution. I forget how many times you can go through freezing-thawing cycles, though.

The only ingredient in Trimix that is affected over time under refrigerated or room temperature was the Alprostadil. I am not aware of any of these studies being done for HCG. That being said, freezing is part of the lyophilization process that HCG must go through before it can be dispensed, so it's probably safe to say that freezing it once or twice doesn't significantly affect its potency.

Thanks Doc. I initially misread that as a statement, the product of a quick read on an iPhone. Sorry Doc. This would be interesting to know, especially with higher concentration vials and a low dose schedule.

You could potentially preload and freeze. I remember a while back people would do that with their IGF. Don't know if it would work with hcg. I'll keep checking in cause I would like to know the answer as well. Take the Poll!!! It is just a click. And, possibly very important. It would be great if it could! I don't believe it's recommended for stability reasons. BUT, the question Dr. Scally has presented it possibly could be done with success.

Do I know how? As a corollary question, would you freeze reconstituted hGH for later use? Take The Poll!

Pericles Member. It is my understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, but freezing destroys reconstituted HCG. I made the mistake of putting it in the freezer a couple of times. The HCG I get from a compounding pharmacy says "do not freeze. Couldn't we answer this by freezing some, letting out the then treating it on a pregnancy test? If I had any left I'd do that right now to see. Click to expand Michael Scally MD said:. I have no idea, but want to learn.

Last edited: Jun 30, An assay will show that which comes up within their limits, but not necessarily that which is bioactive. In order to sere whether freezing is not harmful there would need to be clinical trials to test for bioactivity, serum testosterone levels. What about a very similar drug LH! This should put to rest the notion that one can safely freeze hCG for later use.

CensoredBoardsSuck Member. Last edited: Jul 1, Gelatin and serum proteins help to stabilize aqueous solutions of hCG. I think the evidence is not there to freeze hCG for later use without running the risk of decreasing effectiveness. It would be nice and easy to test what freezing would do to hCG bioactivity. And, the end point must be bioactivity and NOT immunoactivity. As it would be a simple clinical trial, maybe someone will take the time to run. You must log in or register to reply here.
